A WABetaInfo report has revealed that the WhatsApp beta app version 2.20.163 for Android showcases a new integration with Messenger Rooms. This allows users to have access to this real-time video-chatting feature that enables up to 50 people to participate in the same group call. If you too have 2.20.163 Android beta update installed, the news report added that you can check for WhatsApp’s new integration with Messenger Rooms by checking out the chat sheet if the Room icon is place alongside like Documents, Gallery, Audio, Location and Contacts. Why we didn’t mentioned about the Camera icon here, the reason is it has been replaced by Rooms in the WhatsApp beta app version 2.20.163 for Android. On Clicking on Rooms, WhatsApp will introduce Room Messenger to you and you can get started by creating Rooms. But there is a second option too as you can access Room Messenger via Call tab. You select your contacts and then continue in messenger to create Room. According to the report, the Messenger Rooms integration on WhatsApp has initially been introduced to users in the United States. However, it is believed that it will be made available in other regions soon. In a blog post earlier, Facebook had revealed that “Messenger Rooms make it easy to spend quality time with friends, loved ones and people who share your interests. Create a room right from Messenger or Facebook, and invite anyone to join your video call, even if they don’t have a Facebook account. Rooms will soon hold up to 50 people with no time limit.” “Messenger Rooms is a new way to spend time with friends and family through group video calls when you can’t be together in person. We built Rooms with privacy in mind and designed controls to let you manage your experience,” said Erin Egan, Chief Privacy Officer, Policy. Let’s check out 5 features that have been introduced to make Room Messenger secured: Locking: Rooms can be locked or unlocked once a call begins. If a room is locked, no one else can join, except a Group admin for rooms created through a Group. Removing a participant: The room creator can remove any unwanted participants. If the room creator removes someone from the call or leaves, the room will lock automatically and the room creator must unlock the call for others to join. Leaving: If at any point you feel unsafe in a room, you can leave. Just because a room is locked doesn’t mean you have to stay. Reporting: You can report a room name or submit feedback about a room if you believe it violated Facebook’s Community Standards. But since Facebook don’t watch or listen to your audio or video calls, it’s important to know that reports and feedback will not include audio or video from the room. Blocking: You can block someone on Facebook or Messenger who may be bothering you and we won’t inform them. When someone you’ve blocked is logged into Facebook or Messenger, they won’t be able to join a room you’re in and you won’t be able to join theirs.
