Huawei’s new tablet’s images come from a popular leakster Ishan Agarwal and he claims that the company will be releasing a series of tablets in the Indian market. However, there is no mention of the names of the tablet, the series, the price point or the launch date of the device. The images of the Huawei’s tablet suggest that it will sport a large screen with thick bezels on all sides and feature the company’s logo on the bottom bezel. There is a single camera placed on the top bezel on the front with no LED flash. On the right side of the tablet, there is a power button along with the volume rockers. On the back, there is a single rear camera placed at the top left of the device. However, the details about these cameras are currently not known. There is also the Huawei branding on the centre of the back panel that seems to be made out of plastic/ polycarbonate. At the bottom of the tablet are the two speaker grilles placed on either side of the device. Other than the volume rocker and the power button, there is no other button on the tablet. The offering even comes without the home button. Even the back is devoid of any fingerprint sensor so there is a possibility that the device will not have the fingerprint scanner at the back or the front. With the design and the built of the tablet it seems like an entry to mid-range device and if that’s the case then it is highly unlikely that the company will place an in-display fingerprint scanner on the device.
Other than the physical aspects of the new Huawei’s tablet, there is a possibility that the device may run Android 9.0 Pie skinned with EMUI. If these devices will run on Google’s Android platform, then it might be a problematic for the potential users who purchase these devices because of the trade ban between Google and Huawei. There is a high possibility that the upcoming tablet from Huawei will not receive support and software updates as a result of the trade ban. But how and when the Chinese smartphone maker plans to launch its new tablets in the Indian market will be seen in the coming weeks. Seeing that its competitor Samsung has already launched two new tablets in the Indian market today – Galaxy Tab S5e and Galaxy Tab A10.1 – the competition has toughened up for Huawei’s upcoming device even before its launch.
