It brings a new group calling button to the interface that is next to the name of groups, once the chat is opened. The new group calling button was previously spotted in iOS beta version 2.18.110.17. The beta update was provided to the iPhone users via TestFlight. In addition, this feature has a New Group call shortcut, which comes with the ‘New Call screen’. This gives users the option of selecting three contacts for a call. Consumers can select any contact from the phone instead of specific groups of Whatsapp. The new group calling button is situated next to the group names in your chat window, too. Once you visit it you can select the number you’d like to call. There is option for you to either voice call or video call. One thing to note is that the native group calling support on Whatsapp has a limit of four callers on one call. Also, Whatsapp for Android would add the new group calling-focused features soon. The New Group Call shortcut wasn’t available for testers until recently. It was spotted in Android beta late last month. In order to avail this upgraded beta version, users need to download the latest Whatsapp version. The official changelog specifies that this update has the ability to play consecutive voice messages in a sequence. Also, this started rolling out with the sticker integration in October. Whatsapp might launch the same feature for Android phones in the coming weeks. It will be good to see how useful this update users find. Over the years, Whatsapp has launched a lot of updates which has proved to be useful to users. Recently, the dark mode has also been launched in which one can switch their Whatsapp screen to dark mode in order to save battery and prevent harming the eyes.
